About

My practice is rooted around drawing, its materials, tools, methods, subjects and history. Having studied art history, the past strongly informs my work and it is underpinned by a consistent engagement  with, and the practice of, drawing from life.

I work in a range of media, most recently exploring the human silhouette through the 19th century technique of cyanotype printing, and using scissors as a drawing tool to create paper cut-out figures from life. Other bodies of work have used envelopes, lipstick as a printing ink, and fake eyelashes.

My work explores themes of the human figure in visual culture, questioning the beginnings and endings of a drawing, filling-in,

drawings as objects, and the use of humble disposable materials.

I live and work in South London.
